Do Dah Day!
Do Dah Day, one of Birmingham's oldest festivals is this Saturday! For over 30 years the 100% volunteer staff of Do Dah Day has thrown one of Birmingham's most exciting events to raise funds for animal shelters in the greater Birmingham area. One could even say that it really has gone to the dogs! Do Dah Day seems to get better each year, and you could not find a more family (and pet friendly) event. A parade down Highland Avenue at 11:01 a.m. leads to Caldwell and Rhodes park where the party kicks off at 12:01. The folks at Do Dah Day have thought of everything, including a Kid's Area (face painting, craft making with volunteers from the McWane Science Center, and more) all the way to watering stations for our four legged, no legged, and winged friends so that they can have just as a good time as their humans!
Throw in great food, drinks, and live music (including friends of Birmingham Mountain Radio and Do Dah Day headliners Luella and The Sun) and you have yourself quite a party! So make plans to attend Do Dah Day, Saturday May 18th (and don't forget Do Dah Eve the night before at Steel Lounge) and don't say no one told you!
